2007

  • Bobbing for apples - This was funny. After dinner, Zach never liked apples before so I cut the apples big the way Tia liked it. I told Zach about it and told him to eat some. He likes eating the apples this way :-) (11/1/2007)

  • Tanaka Farms - Part 1 - Tia, Zach and Audrey at Tanaka Farms ... here they are at the stands playing with the pumpkins (9/29/2007)

  • Tanaka Farms - Part 2 - Tia, Zach and Audrey at Tanaka Farms .. here they are at the end of the corn maze. (9/29/2007)

  • Tia Reading - A few months back, Tia started sounding out words from books. We decided to open the "Hooked on Phonics for Kindergardeners" that she got from Thomas and Cynthia. I should have opened it sooner because she loves these books. So, here she is reading one of the books for the first time. (9/26/2007)

  • Sunshine Babies - Tia and Zach took "Parent and Me Sunshine Babies" this summer. Here's a clip from the last day. Unfortunately, this was the only class where Zach was tired because he napped less than usual that day. He still played but he's less jovial than usual. (8/6/2007)

  • Jumping Zach - Zach likes to jump off stuff. It made us nervous when he did it from the couch so we let him practice here instead. If you can't beat them, join them! He got it out of his system now and no longer jumps off the couch. Now he likes to run on the couch or lean as far as he can off the side of the couch. (8/2/2007)

  • To infinity ... and beyond! - Zach and Tia have been digging Toy Story 1 & 2, and Zach cracks up when Buzz is flying in his anti-gravity bubble.. (8/1/2007)

  • Maps - Tia didn't go to school most of the summer so we deided to introduce her to the U.S. states since this was the promised curriculum at her preschool that she would have missed. She learned how to put the U.S. map together. She knows most of the states by their shapes and she knows where they're located. We give her all sorts of puzzles to put together and all sorts of pics to test her knowledge and she seems to truly know her U.S. map. This is her first time to play this puzzle. We're so proud. (7/9/2007)

  • Again! - Zach playing with Dad! He has a very funny laugh. (7/2/2007)

  • Touchdown - Zach at 8 months doing Touchdown. We found more time during after the holidays to teach them some fun stuff :-) (1/9/2007)

  • Playing Ball with Daddy - Zach loves to play ball with daddy. He enjoys it more and more everyday. (1/6/2007)

2006

  • Getting Around - Zach gets around any way he can -- slither, crawl or scoot. He's an active little boy. (11/17/2006)

  • Jumping Tia - Tia playing and Zach watching (11/13/2006)

  • Drawing - Tia likes to draw. (11/3/2006)

  • A-B-C - Zach loves his big sister. He loves watching her and pays attention to everything she does (10/30/2006)

  • Zach's First Word - Zach has always communicated very well. At three months old, he understood the word "talk". He would make sound on cue whenever we say "talk". Zach started saying Mama right before he turned 6 months old. Here's a video of us asking him to say mama. He used to only say it as a babbling sound .. not necessarily calling me but before he turned 7 months, he calls me Mama whenever he wants to be carried. It's sweet! (10/28/2006)

  • Zach and Tia - Nobody makes Zach laugh quite as much as Tia. He loves his big sister. He smiles as soon as she walks into the room. Here's a video of Tia making Zach laugh. (10/25/2006)

  • Hokey Pokey - Tia demonstrating her dancing skills through the hokey pokey. (10/21/2006)

  • Teaching Touchdown - We tried to teach Zachary how to do touchdown 2 months earlier than we started with Tia. It turns out he just thinks it's funny so we'll try again next month instead :-) (10/12/2006)

  • Baa Baa Black Sheep - This always makes him smile. (Itsy bitsy spider makes him calm) (10/5/2006)

  • That's Entertainment! - Sometimes, when we're busy, we ask Tia to entertain Zach so he doesn't get bored just sitting around. She likes to sing. (9/11/2006)

  • Seven Continents - Tia can recite the 7 continents. (9/11/2006)

  • Ticklish Boy - Zach is so ticklish. We love hearing him laugh! (7/26/2006)

  • Pledge of Allegiance - Tia was playing with this flag earlier today. She was spinning and spinning and then we noticed that she was actually saying the Pledge of Allegiance. :-) Aside from the word "indivisible", pretty good for a two-year old, don't you think? :-D (7/20/2006)

  • Monkey Baby - Tia was sitting on the couch and all of a sudden said "I love mommy and daddy" without our coaching her or anything. Tam grabbed the camera and asked her to say it again and that's when it became obvious that she was born the year of the monkey. (4/23/2006)

  • Computer - See if you guys can beat Tia's time for building the Wiggles' car! (4/18/2006)

  • Animal Sounds Revisited - It's been a long awhile since we went through Tia's animal sounds. She has a new one. Do you know what sound a bunny rabbit makes? (1/18/2006)

2005

  • Alphabet - Tia singing the entire Alphabet song. (9/30/2005)

  • Shapes - She learned to say oval, square, rectangle, triangle, circle, star, heart and octagon recently. She used to only point at them when we ask which shape is what (9/22/2005)

  • Tia Eating - She eats well. I'm happy that I can pretty much do other things now while she eats. She started feeding herself at 13 months but it's not until recently that she let me do other things instead of sit beside her. She never really used her high chair. Mostly because she was too small and would sink in it :-) (9/10/2005)

  • Labor Day Weekend 2005 - We went to San Diego to celebrate my pregnancy and our 4th year anniversary. We took Tia to Legoland and Sea World. She had so much fun. We didn't capture much on video but here's a few. Tia was talking phrases at 17 months and we understood most of what she said but when we saw it on video, we just realized that she's not easy to understand at all. It's funny how that works. Well, hey, Albert Einstein didn't speak well until 5 :-) (9/2/2005)

  • Tia and Puzzles - Sorry this video was cut a lot. Tia got distracted a lot that night. She knew the animals about a couple of months earlier but this is the first time we videotaped it. She has an adorable voice. I just love listening to her talk. (8/30/2005)

  • Swing - Tia's first time on a non-infant swing. (8/26/2005)

  • Racing Day - Tia and mommy racing around the house. At 17 months, she bosses me around :-) I'm about a month pregnant with Zach here. (8/18/2005)

  • Trains - I told Tam one day how much Tia likes trains. I noticed that whenever we go to the toy store, the first toy she plays with are trains. So I got her a mini-Thomas Engine train track -- very miniature compared to the displays at the mall that she doesn't even play with it as much. Tam, on the other hand, took it as an opportunity to buy his little girl an actual train set. Here's Tia enjoying her train the first day daddy got it. (8/11/2005)

  • Cooking with Tia - Tia sometimes sits on the kitchen floor pretending to mix things in a bowl (using her bubble wand) while I get dinner ready. While she's there, I let her open certain kitchen cabinet doors. It seems as though after a certain amount of time, she always gets up and heads straight for this particular drawer and proceeds to call her daddy so he can see her. (8/10/2005)

  • Candid Tia - Here's Tia on a lazy Wednesday afternoon. This video was taken after daddy told Tia not to get up on the step. I think she's trying to remind herself of what daddy asked of her. (8/10/2005)

  • Grandma and Granpa - Tia loves playing with grandma and grandpa! (8/7/2005)

  • Up and Down - Now that we know how to teach her to swim, we spend 1 day a week in the pool with Tia. She loves the water! She's getting more and more comfortable. (8/6/2005)

  • Poopa - Listen to her as she tries to tell us what she wants to do next at the end. She's getting very good at letting us know about it these days. (8/6/2005)

  • Scared - Here's Tia showing us what it's like to be scared. We taught her this because her Uncle Joey used to do this when he was a baby and he was so cute about it :-) (7/25/2005)

  • Matching Pictures - Tia and I bought a puzzle one day since I figured it's a different kind of toy. We're pretty proud of this (although if she smiles, we're also very proud. We're googlie-eyed parents :-) ) because she was able to match each of the pictures immediately and proceeded to learn the name of each animal. We would say the name and she'll pick up the corresponding piece (5/15/2005)

  • Tia the Destroyer - She enjoys knocking things down but only things that she built or she sees built in front of her (5/14/2005)

  • Pushing Cars - Tia (most of the time) prefers to push her car. Here's a video of Tia pushing Amelie around in her car. (2/20/2005)

  • Reading - Tia reading and laughing at her favorite book -- Water, Water Everywhere (2/7/2005)

  • Talking - Tia saying *dog*. (1/20/2005)

  • Walking - A few days before she turned 10 months old, Tia started to walk. (1/20/2005)

  • Cowgirl - Tia playing with her cow. She definitely got her coordination from daddy because mommy has none of that :-) And here she was, back when she first tried (01/05/05). She figured out a little later to drag the cow to a place where it wouldn't slide around. It's fun to watch the wheels turning when she tries to figure out how things work. And when she finally does, we just feel so proud. :-) (1/20/2005)

  • Tiny Dancer - She loves dancing and singing (more like screaming) to music. Her moves are becoming more sophisticated. Skillfully, she shakes her butt and rocks to the music with her head not forgetting to wave to her viewers once in awhile ... (1/9/2005)

  • Making Friends - The heavy rains brought this pool toys from the swimming pool to our backyard. While I was watching TV, I found her sitting on her cow and waving to the frog and the butterfly. Turn on the volume. Youll hear her try to talk to them. (1/7/2005)

2004

  • The Climber - Climbing is her favorite pasttime. We cant look away for one second. She's pretty fast too. (12/29/2004)

  • Touchdown - Here's what she does when we yell TOUCHDOWN!!! She learned this during the football season (11/27/2004)

  • Tracking - Testing her tracking at about 2-1/2 weeks old. (4/1/2004)
