I'm a bit more aware now of the distinction between baby movement, baby kick and stomach growl. The stomach growl happens above my belly button. The movement happens below my belly button. The most exciting thing I experienced this week is physically seeing the baby kick.

My friend, Gina, told me about how you can physically see your stomach move at the spot where the baby kicks. I waited and waited. It took 4 days but I finally saw it! It's so obvious the baby kicked. There's actually round bumps that pop up on my belly. Tam and I were so excited! He didn't see it but he keeps his hands on my belly all the time when we're watching TV and he already felt it move. What can I say? We're easily amused. :-) Plus, a moving baby is a sign of a healthy baby!

The baby is now about 1 lb. 13 oz and approximately 13 inches from head to toe. Its stem cells are now developing into bone tissue (which probably explains why it's kicking harder now). The baby now responds to noise and light. It can see the light coming through my belly.

Everything's great with my pregnancy. There are occasional discomforts as I constantly try to adjust my position when I'm sitting or standing. I have backaches after standing too long which extends down to my legs. I watched Matrix Reloaded over the weekend and the loud sound gave me a headache but I'm so happy that I'm able to watch a movie now even with all the popcorn smell. Overall, the excitement far outweighs the discomfort and the exhaustion.
